At
Broadmayne School
My
favourite hobby is football. My favourite work is maths. What I
like about the school is that it teaches me what to do. I like to
work in school. It is my favourite thing to do because I like learning
for when I want a job one day. I like school because it likes me.
In summer we can do events on the field. In winter the field is
my favourite place as well because we are allowed to throw snowballs
but not at people. We go on the field in autumn. I only like it
a bit because it has all the leaves falling off the trees and there
is nothing nice for people to see. In spring I like it a lot because
it has loads of wildlife and I like wildlife.. …

I
have a friend called Sally. In the warm summer we go out to play.
In the autumn soft and playful, we rake up the leaves. In winter,
cold and windy, we make snowmen, lots of them. Guess what we play?
It is a game where you chase and get them. Hopscotch is when you
get a stone, throw it and if it lands on a square you put your feet
in and out on all of the squares apart from the square it lands
on. The toys that we have are pull-along trucks, cuddly toys – all
sorts in fact.

The
Wash-Ponds
I like the wash-ponds because my brother and sister
take me when I want. I also like following the river and climbing
trees. I know two paths and one leads to home. It is very muddy
both ways but next time we are going further. But I don’t think
it will lead home. It will be fun though. My sister found a tree
with her friend and she showed me.

is hard. Teachers are shouting. People don’t listen. People don’t
finish their work. People don’t sing; people hide other people’s
toys. I like swimming in the pool. I like PE because it is fun.
I like painting pictures. I like computers because you can play
games on wet days.

The
Tree House
Hello. My name is Polly and I am here in my favourite
tree house. It’s bare all the time, even in spring. Back home in
my bedroom there are my toys, like my teddies and my dolls. But
back in the garden there’s my climbing frame with an extra swing.
I have nine pets, they are a hamster, a fish, a rabbit, a dove,
some pigeons and a goose. In the fields there are sheep and cows
and horses. In the garage we put our bikes.

At
school my favourite thing is the monkey bars. My other favourite
thing is the clay hill. I like the swimming pool because I like
swimming in the summer. I like English and Maths and going to Assembly
and singing. I like painting pictures. Sometimes we work on the
computers and I like it very very much. I like Sports Day on the
field. I like playing on the field at breaktime.

In
Broadmayne School
I like summer because I can go in the swimming pool.
I also like summer because I can do Ten Step athletics nearly every
day. My school uniform has grey trousers, a white shirt and blue
jumper. I have lots of books and rubbers in my tray. The rubbers
are mine. My friends are good to me. I’ll write a list of them;
Danny, Oliver, Matthew, Jake and Sam. Outside you can run around
and say jokes to people and play games like ‘It,’ and ‘Man Hunt’
and other sorts of games as well. You have to do a lot of work like
English and Maths, spellings and times-tables as well. Lots of people
are kind to me, but teacher tells me off sometimes.

friend Christopher
My friend Christopher lives down my lane. I play with
him every day. He’s my mate around my lane. I really do like him.
He plays with me at bonfires and races, and he comes with me on
bike rides. He lets me into his garage. He is as fast as the wind
on his bike. I have roller blades and he has roller blades too,
and blonde hair just like me. His Mum is very kind to me. If you
knew him you would like him too. He goes to the pond with me. Once
in the summer we were playing water fights and we both got soaked.
We both went to a barbecue a little while ago.

My
favourite place is the school adventure playground because I can
do the monkey bars and I can hang upside down on the bars. I can
run up the wooden slope without the rope. My favourite subject is
Maths. That’s the only thing I’m good at. English is the worst thing
in my life. Spelling is just as bad as English. I think that at
school we should only do Maths.

Broadmayne
I really like Broadmayne because it is good fun.
There’s a park and a football ‘rec’. My house is called Barn Cottage.
It is at the end of Rectory Close. My best friend lives just round
the corner. I go to school which is about 1 mile, or two minutes
by car, from my house. I used to go to Broadmayne Beavers but I
left and went to Crossways’ Beavers. I am now at Crossways’ Cubs.
We have to leave to go to school at 8.50 am. We leave school at
3.15 pm and I usually get home at 4.30 pm. Then we have tea at 5.00
pm. I go to bed at 7.30. There’s a football charity collection every
Friday evening. Our nearest town is Dorchester.

We normally do English, maths, geography, history
and science but sometimes we go swimming. Only in year 3 you get
to do ten step athletics. You do things like long jump and 50m sprint.
You learn 15 spellings if you are on green or blue table and some
children from yellow table do if they are in year 3. If you are
on red or white table and some from yellow table you do 10 spellings.
The top table is blue, then green , then yellow, then white and
then red table. We have 5 classes at Broadmayne; the reception teacher
is Mrs Kemp, year 1 is Miss Roper, the year 2 is Mr Martin, year
3 is Mrs Bardsley and year 4 is Mrs Burns.
