St Martin's Circle

St Martin’s Circle began in 1981 and is a church – based group, meeting once a month to provide a friendly, informal meeting place for ladies. It is open to all ladies, whether they are members of a church or not, and there is no formal membership.

For several years the numbers were quite small, but it gradually grew larger, necessitating a move from private homes to the church hall. The programme is Christian-based, but covers a wide range of subjects; it includes speakers on Mission and Relief work, as for example, TEAR Fund, Christian Aid, and the Leprosy Mission, with tapes, videos, discussions, Christmas and other music, and an annual lunch in the spring.

It is always advertised in the parish magazine and all ladies are very welcome to come along. Over the years small ‘bring and buy’ sales and special collections have enabled us to make a number of donations to various good causes.
