Broadmayne Carriage Company

We purchased the garage at the Dorchester end of Main Street in 1990, previously run for many years by Tony Dredge and family. We continue to offer the local community services such as car repairs, MOT testing, car servicing, body repairs and the sale of new and used vehicles.

The business is a family-owned and family-run concern. In 1994 we expanded our other garage in Broadmayne at the crossroads. This gave us extra space and an extra facility for selling petrol and diesel. We currently employ a total of seven staff from the locality.

Our present team comprises:
Brian Gale and Terrie Connor on petrol sales and the shop,
Jon Shanes, Mark Old and Chris Morrison in the Servicing Department,
Bob Miller on car valeting,
James Old as General Manager and car sales
Alan Old the Proprietor.

We have a small but well equipped workshop and work on all types of vehicles from classics to new cars. We even repair bicycles, lawn mowers and anything else we think we can tackle.

The majority of our customers are local to Broadmayne and the surrounding villages and towns. Other regular customers travel from as far away as Sherborne, Bournemouth, Swanage and Lyme Regis.
